MASS ELECTRIC
MASS ELECTRIC

Mass Electric the new wave of new wave.
Picture the musical landscape between 1977 & 1985, blend it and beam this to 2014: That’s what best describes what Mass Electric sounds like. Mass Electric is a Dutch band formed by 3 producers: Bo Koek, Rik Elstgeest & Gerry Arling.
Bo Koek formely played in Dutch band Kopna Kopna. Rik Elstgeest also played in Kopna Kopna and wrote several hits for other musicians. Geryy Arling is best known as half of the mid nineties famous duo Arling & Cameron. Loved for their Easy Tune Sound. Main vocals are done by Bella Hay, daughter of world famous Golden Earing “Radar Love” singer Barry Hay.
In 2010 Bo, Gerry and Rik moved into a vacant office building in a derelict industrial zone of Amsterdam. With human sequencers, electronic beats, analogue synthesizers, lazy percussion and sharp guitar riffs they started up song-by-song. As for the lyrics; they are inspired by a large office building and its employees across the street.
“Lonely On The 3rd Floor” was mixed in London by Jason Boshoff (Basement Jaxx, Shy Child, Phil Collins, Groove Armada etc) and mastered by Matt Colton at the well-known Air Studios (from bands like The Editors, Birdy and The XX).
The logo and artwork was designed by the great Paris based Pinar & Viola.
Their first single from the album, I Would Like To Go Up, was released on June 16 2014 and was picked up very well in the Netherlands; airplay and a live performance on National Radio 3FM. The single was also used in the final of the fall/winter ‘14/’15 haute couture show of ELIE SAAB at the Paris Fashion Week. Video for the single was done by Studio Moniker who won the prestigious Amsterdam Culture Award 2014.
Second single Dark Roads was released September 8 2014 and again is received well in the Netherlands.
