NO FUTURE NL: 5 Decades Of Dutch Punk Music
Twenty Dutch punk and postpunk releases are available digitally for the first time in history as from today. Over the years, most of these albums, singles and cassettes have only been published in small editions. Just a few have ever made it to CD, the vast majority can only be found at great expense on eBay and Discogs. But this is about to change as they now can be downloaded and streamed on all major digital platforms worldwide. A controversial piece of Dutch music history is finally available again for old and new fans.
The collection of twenty releases comes from thirteen Dutch bands and two compilations. Extra special about this project is the representation of every decade from the 70s onwards. Starting with the first Ivy Green album from 1978 and ending with the compilation Punk's Not Deaf from 2013.
In addition to the twenty releases there is also a new compilation album:

Vopo's - The Vopo's (1980)

Rakketax - Rakketax (1981)
(Post)punk band from Utrecht. The songs were minimal, the pace was usually high and the vocals were fierce but there was also room for melodies and unusual song structures. This EP contains six tracks amongst which two never before released bonus tracks, recorded at the famous Joke's Koeienverhuurbedrijf.

Vopo's - Dead Entertainment (1981)
Debut album released on their own Redlux label. Music varies from a Rocky Erikson cover to an instrumental track about a highway. Including a brilliant song about their hometown Zwolle. On Dead Entertainment the band still sounds punk, later Vopo's moved into a metal direction.

Eton Crop - Koesette (1982)
Founded in Kudelstaart, Eton Crop was inspired by The Fall and The Undertones. Their punk pop sounds versatile, partly because of the presence of a keyboard. John Peel was a big fan and let them record multiple BBC sessions. The Koesette was a cassette release of which Eton Crop took care of side one.

Pistache BV - Koesette (1982)
Side two of the Koesette is filled by Pistache BV of Woerden. Their Dutch-language punk was influenced somewhat by the hardcore bands of their era. Critical texts with a wink about politics (The Hague Today) and society in general (Chips And Football).

Various Artists - Als Je Haar Maar Goed Zit (1982)
Legendary compilation album on the Vögelspin label from Nitwitz in Amsterdam. The bands sing in English and Dutch, the music ranges from pop-punk to punk-wave. A year later the group Vulcano stole the album title for their Dutch Top 40 hit, the victims of this theft are still awaiting compensation ;-)

Wanda's - The Ideal (1982)
The first Dutch female punkband founded in 1978. The members were part-responsible for the birth of Parkhof in Alkmaar, a squat and concert hall. The first line-up was randomly created, including a flutist. The Ideal was released on their own TAS (handbag) label, they liked to make fun of femininity and gender patterns.

Waste - History Repeats (1982)
EP with four tracks by Waste from Oudenbosch, Noord-Brabant. The band started in 1981, History Repeats was released in 1982 and they broke up a year later. Made a reunion recording in 2012 for the compilation album Punk's Not Deaf on Repunkerator Records.

ZMIV - Banzai! (Here'ZMIV Beware!) (1982)
ZMIV stems from Meppel and existed between 1979 and 1984. Gradually, they became a real hardcore exponent, their EP with seven loud bangers is a typical example. They sang in English but also in German. Includes three bonus tracks from Als Je Haar Maar Goed Zit Volume 2.

Wanda's - A State Of No Mercy (1986)
The rattle-punk of Wanda's first few years transformed into quirky rock music, as can be heard on their second album A State Of No Mercy. It is a statement of freedom and tolerance. The band changed line-up several times with a core of three women. On this album men are playing in Wanda’s as well.

S.C.A. - Strong Concentration Of Anger (1987)
Because Staphorster Chaoten Alliantie sounded odd to the foreign ear, the name was changed into Strong Concentration of Anger. Except for The Netherlands, their unruly hardcore could be heard live on stage in Germany, Belgium, Italy and Scandinavia too.

Union Morbide - Ditto (1993)
